The province of Manitoba in Canada has made some changes for the skilled worker immigrants coming to the province. Skilled worker immigration candidates will no longer be penalized if they have a close relative in another province, but do not have any close relative in Manitoba.

Apart from this, candidates will not be penalized in case they have presented an application to a province except for Manitoba.

Largest Ever Express Entry Draw Sends Invitation to Apply (ITAs) to 2,427 Candidates

With 2,427 candidates sent the Invitation to Apply (ITAs) in the latest Express Entry draw held on November 16, it looks to be the largest since the new immigration system was launched on January 2016.

Revisions are expected to happen on November 19, which makes the latest draw the last in the series. The cut-off points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) have also gone down in the past two months. In the latest draw it stood at 470 points.

IRCC Announces to Make Improvements in Express Entry

Some important changes are expected to happen in the Express Entry immigration system which will be effective from November 19. However, it will not be the last time that adjustments will be made in this system.

On November 14, a press release was issued by the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) detailing the short term changes that will be made in the Express Entry system.

Canada Plans Major Changes in Express Entry System Makes Immigration Simpler

The Comprehensive Ranking System for the Express Entry immigration system has been revamped by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The purpose for these changes is to make it easy for international graduates & students to candidates who want to become permanent residents of Canada.

These changes were expected to happen from a long time. Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada through federal managed programs – the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Class and the Federal Skilled Worker Class, will have to make major changes.

Canada to Raise Maximum Age Limit for Dependent Children to under 22

This move was eagerly awaited by numerous permanent residents of Canada and potential applicants who want to immigrate to Canada. The government of Canada has finally announced that the maximum age of dependent children who can be included in a visa application will be raised to 22 years.

If this regulation is approved, it will be effective from fall 2017 and will be applicable on candidates who apply on or after the regulation come into force.

Canada to make changes to Comprehensive Ranking System for 2017

At the start of this year, the government of Canada set out the target to welcome 300,000 new immigrants to the country. As the set target is almost achieved, changes are being planned by the Canadian immigration authority to the Comprehensive Ranking System for the year 2017.

The objective is to make immigration policies more encouraging for aspiring immigrants. The categories in which changes are expected include the Canadian experienced class / temporary residents and aspiring immigrants who have relatives in Canada.

Quebec to Raise New Immigration to 52,500 by 2019

The immigration program of Quebec Province of Canada has always been one of the most sought after among all. As per the latest news update, the government of Quebec is making its immigration programs more generous as it sets a target to bring 51,000 new immigrants in the year 2017.

The news has been confirmed by none other than the immigration minister of Quebec, Kathleen Weil, along with additional details on providing French language-training program to new immigrants.
