Caring for New Immigrants
In keeping with their policy of encouraging immigration the Canadian government has initiated some positive moves which would go a long way in assisting the immigrants to move to Canada early and also to settle down in the new place successfully without much hassles & within short period. Some of the initiatives taken by the Canadian Government towards that end are discussed below.
Changes in the Canadians Immigration Laws : The proposed changes in the immigration system by introducing the 3 Tier system will not only ensure that the old backlog of skilled workers application is reduced but will also ensure that the cases of skilled workers required by Canada & the sponsored families are finalized faster.
Foreign Credentials Referral Offices & Overseas Orientation Services: In order to help the potential immigrants to integrate quickly into the Canadian labour market after landing, the government has established Foreign Credentials Referral Offices in Canada & overseas orientation services in various countries including India to assist/ guide them in getting their credentials assessed & recognized in Canada as quickly as possible.
Increased Settlement Funds Allotments: The Canadian government has invested more funds in setting up additional centers to impart language training & providing job search & employment services to the newly landed immigrants to enable them to settle down quickly in the new country.
Right of Permanent Residence Fee : This Fee too has been reduced to almost half to encourage the potential immigrants to use the saved funds in their settlement on arrival in Canada.
