Maple Country Geared to Welcome New Permanent Residents between 240,000 and 265,000 in 2011.

New Immigration Plan Announced by Government of Canada

Posted On : 10 November,2010

In the efforts to meet the needs of the growing economy of Canada and tackle the shrinking work force, the Government of Canada has announced new immigration plan for the year 2011.

The new plan has been announced by the Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney and the plan aims at maintaining the high levels of workforce for the economic recovery.

The Minister opined that within the next five years, a major chunk of the professionals and skilled manpower would come from immigration and it is estimated that Canada is all set to welcome as many as 240,000 to 265,000 new permanent residents. In the wake of the developments, all the immigration aspirants should grab the opportunity and consider the options for immigration.

Lt. Col. B. S. Sandhu, Chairman & Managing Director WWICS Group posited that the new immigration program is a golden opportunity for millions of professionals and skilled workers who aspire to settle in Canada. He emphasized that Provincial Programs would be a viable option for immigration as the figures state that 25% of economic immigrants are now destined for provinces other than densely populated Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec. This percentage figure is almost double as it stood in the year 1997.

The new immigration plan for the year 2011 aims at balancing the admissions between federal and provincial programs so as to have a well-distributed professional workforce.
