Skilled workers are in high demand in Australia 21 Sep, 2009

Even in the times of worldwide economic slowdown, Australia is in desperate need of skilled workers. The country is accepting around 120,000 skilled trades’ people and professionals from countries around the World. Even this number is not enough. Very recently Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Chris Evans said that while the number of foreign skilled workers has decreased due to the slow economy, there is still a demand for overseas skilled workers in certain sectors of Australia.
In sectors like mining, health care demand for skilled worker from abroad is rising. To fulfill their requirement, many Australian employers are utilizing government's temporary skilled immigration program so that they could hire foreign skilled workers. Minister said the temporary visa is helping Australian employers in this regards, supplementing other Permanent Residency program of Australia.
