Indian Immigrants - the Favorite Choice of Australia
Aussies Keen to Lure More Skilled Workers
Posted on : 25 January,2011

As per the Australian envoy Peter Varghese, the second largest source of skilled migrants to Australia is India. He also adds that the Australian government is more than keen to encourage this trend and attract more Indian Skilled Workers to the Land Down Under.

In order to ensure that the Indians pick Australia as a favored immigration destination, the Australian High Commissioner for India is leaving no stones unturned; especially post the strained relations due to the racist attacks witnessed in the Kangaroo Land.

In a bid to enhance the relations between Australia and India, Varghese said that as many as 300,000 people of Indian origin are living in Australia, with a majority from Punjab. He added that in to order to increase this number, the Australian government plans to organize a promotional campaign in India essentially targeting Chandigarh, Punjab and other cities in northern India.

The focus of the Australian government in India especially Punjab and Chandigarh is a welcome step and all the aspirants should make the most of this golden opportunity. The youth of Punjab should gear up and cash in on the chance”, opined Col Sandhu (Retd.), CMD, WWICS Group.

He added that WWICS equips all its clients by conducting workshops and seminars that give the aspirants a crystal clear picture of the requisites for immigration to Australia and with the thrust of the Australian government on north India- the youth of Punjab are sure to benefit manifold.

As per the reports, Australia plans to roll out a new migration program that will be more demand driven rather than supply driven, however, the rules would not target any particular group of migrants applicants based on their country of origin.
