Skilled Immigration Strategy Launched by Ottawa Canada
Posted on : 20 July, 2011

Canada has always been one of the top notch destinations for immigration aspirants and to strengthen its position even further, a new skilled immigration strategy has been launched by Ottawa, Canada.

As per the recent reports, the recently launched strategy is aimed at attracting more immigrants by providing better integration and support services to newcomers and immigrants already settled in Canada.

The new strategy strives to provide a platform and will bring together 12 Canadian immigration and settlement agencies, employers and social service providers in order to assist and facilitate smooth settlement of the migrants into the community.

The recent statistics bring forth that approximately 6,300 immigrants move to Ottawa annually, thereby representing 100% of the net growth in the labour force of the city. Furthermore, an additional 2,700 enter as temporary migrant workers and 2,300 are students, thus bringing out the need to have a well-defined immigration strategy.

Following the announcement, Lt. Col. BS Sandhu (Retd.), CMD, WWICS Group said, “It is a commendable initiative and it is hoped that Ottawa will become an even more attractive destination for Skilled Professionals, Professionals & Business persons.”

He added that the aim of this newly launched strategy is to create more opportunities for immigrants to form social connections, to encourage more small and medium sized businesses to hire foreign workers and integrate in the community as smoothly as possible.
