Australia, a dream destination for Indian migrants is all set to receive an increased number of immigrants in skilled categories under the latest changes mooted in Australian skilled migration program.

The introduction of new Critical Skills List (CSL) announced by Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, effective from January 1, 2009 will immensely jack up the immigration pace under skilled categories and classes, fast-tracking professionals on the critical skills list so that the economy gets the skills it needs the most.

Critical Skills List
The Critical Skill List revised on 16th March 09 is as under. This list will only apply to people who are seeking to migrate under the skilled migration program, who are not sponsored by an employer or nominated by a state or territory government.
The introduction of new Critical Skills List (CSL) effective March 16, 2009 will immensely jack up the immigration pace under skilled categories and classes, fast-tracking these occupation based professionals on the Critical Skills List so that the economy gets the skills it needs the most.
