UK’s Work Permit scheme has been relaunches as UK TIER-2 Program with new policies for Work Permit opportunities with effect from 27th November, 2008. Shedding light on the latest developments on new Tier -2 policy, Lt Col Sandhu said that with this, an individual will be able to get a UK work Visa permit in a matter of few months but one has to earn specific points to be eligible under this program.

The qualifying criterion depends on the points earned on various factors like skilled work experience, English proficiency and education qualification. In addition to this, one should have a valid job offer in hand from a valid licensed UK employer.

This comes as an excellent opportunity for corporate to hire professionals from across the world to work in UK. Big business houses who already have their operations in UK, may now take license to call their employees to work in UK under the new Tier 2 Visa. But the employer would have to validate that the position cannot be filled from within UK and falls under the shortage occupation list.
