Quebec, Canada to Welcome Record Number of Immigrants in 2012

The Immigration Minister for Quebec, Kathleen Weil, made a positive announcement as per which the province of Quebec is geared to accept around 51,200 – 53,800 new applications of the immigration aspirants seeking Canadian immigration. A similar trend is expected for the years 2013 and 2014 as well.

Confirming the development, the Minister informed that the idea behind the immigrant applications intake is to seek diversity. As many as 18,900 people arriving in Canada next year will be from the non-French speaking lot. Various companies in Quebec can benefit manifold since professionals speaking diverse languages looking for improved opportunities overseas, especially the Canadian immigrants, would be attracted to immigrate to Quebec.

As stated by Weil, the government will continue to seek French-speaking immigrants and make an effort to teach those immigrants who do not speak French, while integrating them into Quebec.

Quebec is one of the most flourishing provinces in Canada, and under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration, Quebec establishes its own immigration requirements. Nevertheless, Citizenship and Immigration Canada have the final rights to take a decision on whether or not to grant the visa to a Canada immigration aspirant.

Citing this positive opportunity, Lt. Col. BS Sandhu, (Retd.), CMD, WWICS, said, 'Quebec is one of the booming provinces in Canada, which adds to the importance of Canada as a destination for immigration aspirants. The province has several programs for Skilled Workers & Professionals and Entrepreneurs and Business persons wherein they can reach Quebec on fast track. The Skilled Workers & Professionals can apply under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program if their occupation is in the list of preferred occupations and they can reach within 12-15 months.'

He added for Business persons, Entrepreneurs and farmers, the business program of Quebec, i.e. Quebec Entrepreneur Program is a fast track program that has reasonable investment and low educational requirements coupled with phenomenal success rate.
