What do you mean by Permanent Residence?
 

Permanent residence in Canada Visa grants permission to its holder to live and work lawfully anywhere in Canada. It gives you an access to many of Canada's social programs such as healthcare, subsidized education, unemployment, insurance etc

 
Do I and my family members require a passport?
 

Yes, you and your accompanying  family members must have valid international passports in order for you to be issued Permanent Residence in Canada visas.

 
What if I immigrate to Canada first and then apply for my family members and dependents to join me?
 

Yes. You may immigrate & establish yourself in Canada First & later sponsor / Apply for your family ie Spouse & dependent children.

 
Will a close relative in Canada help in any way?
 

A close blood relative who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident entitles you for the award of 5 additional points subject to production of relevant documentary evidence.

 
Do I become a permanent resident of Canada as soon as my landing documents are issued ?
 

No. You will only become a permanent resident when you cross a Canadian port-of-entry with your valid passport and your valid Canadian Immigrant Visa.

 
 

   
How long can I wait to come to Canada after my Immigrant Visa is issued ?
 

You must arrive in Canada before the expiry date which appears on your Immigration Visa. Usually, it is one year from the time medical examinations were completed. As this is not always the case, be sure to verify the expiry date as soon as you receive your Immigrant Visa.

 
What are the criteria for obtaining Canadian citizenship?
 

To apply for Canadian Citizenship you must
(a) Be 18 years of age.
(b) Be a Permanent Resident of Canada.
(c) Have lived in Canada for at least 3 years of the 4 years before applying.
(d) Be able to communicate in English or French.
(e) Have knowledge about Canada.
(f) Know the rights & responsibilities of Citizenship.

 
Do I have to attend an interview with a visa officer?

How long does the immigration process take ?
 
 

The average processing time varies from one region to another which keep changing from time to time due to variable factors. However the average processing time is approximately 24 months for applications. Depending on the circumstances of the case, and the office at which the application is submitted, processing time may be shorter or Longer than 24 months.

 
What are the required funds to establish in Canada ?
 

You must have enough money or liquid assets to support your family for an estimated period of six (6) months after you arrive in Canada. These funds cannot be borrowed from another person. The amount of money or liquid assets you require is determined by the size of your family. These are liable to change from time to time.

You must provide documented evidence that you will have access to your money or liquid assets upon your arrival to Canada. You do not have to provide proof of these funds if you have arranged employment in Canada.

 
Is there any way to expedite the immigration process?
 

There is no magic way to expedite the process. Beware of representatives who claim that you will receive a visa faster or benefit from special treatment from the Canadian government by using their services. You may be able to speed up the process by:
• Making sure all the necessary information is included with your application.
• Notifying the Visa Office of any changes to the information on your application.
• Avoiding unnecessary enquiries to the Visa Office.
• Making sure the documents you provide are clear, legible, authentic and meet the specific requirements.
• Providing certified English or French translations of documents, where indicated
• Obtain an arranged Employment duly approved by HRSDC.
• Clear IELTS with appropriate bands.

   
 

  
What is required to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada under the Skilled Worker category?
 

You must have at least one year of continuous full-time employment experience during the least 10 years  in one or more occupations that are listed in Skill Type Management Occupations or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification matrix. You must also score a minimum of 67 points on a number of factors designed by the Canadian immigration authorities to assess your chances of successfully establishing yourself economically in Canada.

 
Do I require licensing & registration to get a job in Canada?
 

One has to obtain a license for the regulated profession only. Therefore depending on the occupation that you intend to pursue in Canada you may wish to have your credentials assessed in order to determine whether you meet your profession's licensing requirements.
