In a normal pattern Express Entry draw is conducted after every two weeks by the Federal government of Canada. There is no doubt that this immigration program is one of the most sought after from aspiring immigrants from across the globe.

Due to the latest happenings in the year 2018, there is one more program that has gained attention of aspiring immigrants from world over.

Many of the those wishing to immigrate to Canada must have guessed it right, yes, we are talking here about Human Capital Priorities Stream from Ontario.

There is no second thought in saying that Human Capital Priorities Stream has come out with five invitation rounds till now since the year 2018 has started. It is worth noting here that three invitation rounds were carried out in February.

By using the Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCP), it is possible for Ontario to search for candidates in the Express Entry pool and pick up candidates who have scored a minimum of 400 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Provided they are fulfilling certain other criteria, the selected candidates are given 600 additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Looking back in time, in the past 2 years, Express Entry system has invited more people to become permanent resident of Canada, much more than what is being invited by HCP.

Take the example of 2017, more than 80,000 people were invited by the Express Entry system to become permanent resident of Canada, whereas, only 6,500 nominations were given by Ontario, in which only a small portion was contributed by HCP.

In just two months in the year 2018, a total of 1,808 nominations have been issued by Ontario through the Human Capital Priorities stream. During the same time period, a total of 11,500 Invitation to Apply have been issued by Express Entry system to people to become permanent resident of Canada.
