There are 4 categories of Employer sponsored migration to Australia:
- Employer Nomination scheme (ENS)
- Regional Sponsored Migration scheme (RSMS)
- Labour Agreements
- Invest Australia Supported Skills program
All these programs are employer driven. The first 3 programs enable Australian
Employers to select and recruit highly skilled workers, either from Overseas or
from people temporarily in Australia, where an employer has been unable to fill
their recruitment needs from the Australian Labour market or through their own
training efforts. The IASS program enables the employers (who have an approved
IASS agreement) to transfer key managerial and specialist employees of their
organization to Australia.
Criterion to apply for these categories:
All prospective applicants must first be nominated by the Australian Employer.
This nomination should be received by a department of Immigration and
Multicultural affairs business center in Australia. Upon approval of this
nomination the employer will advise the nominee and provide them with a copy of
nomination approval letter from DIMA. The nomination should be lodged before or
at the same time as the visa application.
Other requirements:
The applicant nominee should have passed the vocational Level of English and or
functional level of English – IELTS.
Qualification Assessment:
- The applicant nominees qualifications need to be assessed in case:
- The applicant has not worked in the occupation in Australia for 2 years before
applying or
- The applicants base salary will be less than the specific figure as mentioned in
the Guide lines set by DIMA.
- Registration, Licensing or membership of a professional body is mandatory in the
proposed field of employment.
