LIEUT. GENERAL B.K.N. CHHIBBER PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.)
Former Governor Punjab & Administrator Chandigarh  

Lt. Gen Bakshi Krishan Nath Chhibber, born on 10th Feb, 1936, migrated to India from Pakistan in August, 1947. Lt. Gen. B.K.N. Chibber was commissioned in the “ Gorkha Rifiles” ( Infantry) as an ex NDA entry through the IMA DEHDADUN in Dec. 1956. He has served in various command and staff appointments in various field service and high altitude areas.

Lt. Gen Chhibber served as a Defence Advisor to the Bhutan Army HQ from Aug. 1964 to Dec. 1967. He was awarded the UGEN THOGYAL Medal by Bhutan for his services to the country in 1967.

Gen. Chhibber had an eventful career in the Army. He participated in 1962 China War, 1965 & 1971 Indo-Pak war. Throughout his career he handled many important operations like “AVERT” (Border Sealing 1987-89) OP RAKSHAK (1990-93). He was appointed GOC of the Amritsor-Gurdaspur Division in 1987. In 1993 he was appointed as Security Advisor to the Government of Punjab. Subsequently in 1994 he was also appointed as Governor of Punjab. General Chibber was Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh from Sept. 1994 to Nov 1999, a period of five years.

The general was not only the Governor of Punjab But also the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. This was a period when the administration and law & order had been under stress due to terrorism. This needed very highly coordinated effort on the part of the Administration under very harmonious leadership both executive and political

 
       
  

Mr. Pathak,Kare Narain
 

Pathak, Kare Narain, presently UGC Emeritus Fellow, Department of Physics formerly was Vice Chancellor of Punjab University. After he ranked 1st in M.Sc from Allahabad University in 1962, Pathak Kare Narain did his Ph.D from I.I.T, Kanpur. There were many rewards and awards which were conferred upon him. Like in 1977 he received Alexander von Humboldt Senior fellowship Award. In 1983, he became Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, in 1991 UGC National Fellowship Award, 1992 Indian Academy of Sciences, between 1992-1998 he was Senior Associate Member of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. In the year 1996 he was awarded as Meghnad Saha Award by UGC. In  2001, Fellow, Punjab Academy of Sciences, in 2008 he became Fellow of Indian National Science Academy. He is the founder member of Society for Scientific Values, New Delhi.

 
       
   

Mr. Sunil Gupta
 

Sunil Gupta, B. Com F.C.A. is a Chartered Accountant by profession for the last 23 years of the career. He was the rank holder in C.A final Examination. Mr. Gupta was nominated by Ministry of Finance Govt. of India as Director on the Board of Director of CANARA BANK. He played his key role as Secretary, Vice Chairman & Chairman in Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, Chandigarh Branch. He was the nominated member of Insurance Committee of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, Director of Chandigarh Club ltd, Convener of Banking study group of (NIRC) of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Nominated Director on behalf of IDBI on listed company. He was also the member of The Professional Development Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

 
       
   

Dr. Kuldeep Singh Dhindsa
 

Dr. Kuldip Singh Dhindsa, world known scientist and professor has his many laurels throughout his professional career. He was the head of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Director of Student’s Welfare, Director Students Counseling & placement, Dean, Basic Sciences & Humanities, Vice-Chairman, Campus School, International Students Advisor etc.

Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had decorated him in 1976 ,with Indian National Science Academy Award. Prof. Dhindsa has his outstanding contributions in the field of Inorganic and Biological Chemistry. In the year 1990, he was awarded Fullbright Schoolarship and in the same year was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London.  In 2002, the national Environmental Science Academy (India) conferred its fellowship on Prof. Dhindsa. After retirement from Haryana Agricultural University, he joined MM Group of institutions, Mullana (Ambala) as Director General. Mr. Joginder Singh
 

Sh. Joginder Singh,( IPS Retd, Former Director, CBI India) was selected a student elected for the Indian Police Service at the age of 20. He has held a number of prestigious positions both in Karnataka and Central Govt. which includes DIG & IG Police in Karnataka, Director of Youth Services in Karnataka, Special Home Secretary to the Govt. of Karnataka, Director in the Commerce Ministry, Director General Narcotics Control Bureau, Director General of Central Industry Security Force and Bureau of Police Research and Development, Special Secretary in the union Home Ministry.      

Joginder Singh, has led a number of Indian delegations abroad to UK, USA, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and many more countries. He is an Honorary Visiting Professor in the Indian Institute of Finance, New Delhi. He is the president of the management Committee of Giani Gurbux Singh DAV College, Jalandhar.

Joginder Singh has authored many books published in different languages. Some of them are “make a way where there is none”, “Ways of success and Happiness”, “50 days Top”, “ome untold tales”, “Outside CBI”, “Inside India”.

 
       
   

Brig.N.J.S.Sidhu

Brig NJS Sidhu, SM(G)VSm (Retd.),an ex-army officer spent 37 glorious years of his life in the Indian Army.He has been a recipient of four gallantry awards and had taken part in 1971 Operations,IPKF & Valley.

All the attributes earned as distinguished army officer has helped him rovide overall direction and guidance to the Company`s Operational activities with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management to all operation functiions. His army Contributed in effective administration,ability to inspire and motivate the team and able to think and react quickly in all situations.

His exceptional team building & leadership quality has been a stimulus for his team andling WWICS operations pertaining to Assessment,Case Filinig,Processing with respect to all the immigration categories like Skilled Worker Immigration, Study Visa, Business Immigration, Placement & settlement Services. His leadership and support strategy in handling all back-end operations has enabled to deliver error-free filing & processing of immigration case of clients.

His key focus in managing operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals,objectives and policies an dimplementing programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit.

 
       
   

A.S. Chatha

Shri A.S.Chatha joined the I.A.S cadre of punjab in 1963 and served it with distinction till his retirement in 1995.He made very note worthy contribution in two assignments particularly:-

1) As Managing Director of Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation form 1972-1977 and subsequently as Secretary Deptt.of Industries, he planned and implemented a number of large and medium enterprises,to strengthen teh Industrial sector dominated by cottage and small scale Industries,to heighten the necessity and urgency for techonology and managerial up-gradation with a view to improve productivity and cost and quality competitiveness.

2) As home secretary from 1990-1992 and as Chief Secretary from 1992--1995 with Late S. Beant Singh as Chief Minister,led the state administration sucessfully to achieve teh following four objectives laid down by the state govt.

i. Restoration of Law & Order
ii. Restoration of democratic structure by holding elections to rural and urban local bodies afte almost a decade.
iii. Restoration of fiscal health of the state by mobilizing tax and non-tax revenue particularly by introducing user charges across teh board.
iv. Make the state administration function and accountable.(Long spell of terrorism had shattered the morale off the services and created fear psychosis particularly in the country side paralyzing the working of many developoments).

Post Retirements Assignments :-

1. Chairman Punjab State Electricity Board during S.Beant Singh`s Govt.
2. Chief Minister`s Advisory Committee on Industrial Development in Captain Amrinder Singh`s Govt.
3. Chairman Punjab third finance commission in Captain Amrinder Singh`s Govt.

 
       
   

K.S.Sidhu

K. S. Sidhu held a number of positions throughout his professional career. He started his career as Commissioned Officer, Army and Border Security Force, followed by Assistant Collector, Chief Executive Officer, Collector and District Magistrate, Deputy General Manager, Divisional Commissioner. In the year 1986, he became Secretary of Rural Development and Planning under Govt. Maharashtra. From 1988 to 1993 K. S. Sidhu became Chairman and Director of national Textile Corporation MN) Ltd.

He also played the role of Secretary, General Administration & secretary Public Health under the Govt. of Maharashtra. In 1993 he took charges of Principal Secretary and Special Commissioner of Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation and successfully met up his responsibilities till 1996. From 1996 to 1998, K. S. Sidhu was the Senior Project Coordinator of the World Bank. After that he became Independent Consultant of the World Bank. Throughout his life K. S. Sidhu attended so many international conferences across the globe. K. S. Sidhu also received many awards and certificate of Merit from Maharashtra Govt.& World Bank.
