New Low in CRS Cut-off in Latest Express Entry Draw

A new Express Entry draw was conducted by the government of Canada on May 23rd, 2018 and a total of 3,500 invitations to apply were issued for permanent residence. 440 was the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score for this draw.

The score of the latest draw is a new low for the year 2018, and it moves down the score of 441 points that were there in the invitation rounds that were held on April 25th and May 9th.

In this draw as well the tie-break rule was used again and the date and time picked up for this draw was December 30th, 2017 at 06:39:40 UTC. What this means is that all the candidates who had score 440 and above points in the CRS and had submitted their profile before this time and date were sent the Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this round of invitation.

This is the tenth draw in the year 2018 and the fourth draw in a series in which 3,500 ITAs were issued, and this has brought the ITA total for this year to 31,500.

The size of the draw has been increased by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in the year 2018. The year was started with 2,750 invitations, and in the month of February and March it was increased to 3,000 in the four draws that have taken place since the beginning of April.

It has been said that large invitation rounds will result in lowering of the comprehensive ranking system cut-off score. This is clearly evident in the latest four draws that have taken place.
