Nova Scotia Announces Reopening of Its PNP in the Coming Weeks

A famous immigration program of Nova Scotia, Canada will open again after a gap of nearly more than 2 years. The province of Nova Scotia has announced that the program will be opened for the first time since 2015 in the coming weeks.

The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry immigration program forms part of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP). This is one of the two NSNP that is aligned with the Express Entry immigration selection system of the federal government.

The NSNP is one of those Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) in Canada that enable for quick settlement of aspiring immigrants provided they fulfill all the requirements of immigration.

The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry immigration program is also available to candidates that are already there in the Express Entry pool and meet the eligibility criteria for this particular program. Applicants who are found eligible will get 600 more points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This will make them eligible for receiving the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to become the permanent resident of Canada in the draws that will held in the coming time.

The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry system will become the first such program that will become active in the current year of 2017. In the past few months, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario have also been very active in bringing in new immigrants through their respective Provincial Nominee Program.

It has been planned by Canada that it will invite 51,000 new immigrants to the country in the year 2017 through its PNPs. This will be a seven percent increase as compared to last year. Most of these new immigrants will be welcomed to the country by way of enhanced Express Entry program.

It was also announced by Nova Scotia that this immigration program will be opened and closed periodically in this year till the time the annual target that is set by the federal government has been reached. This way all the immigration applications will be processed more efficiently.

Almost the same kind of program was started recently by Ontario for its own respective immigration program. The latest announcement from Nova Scotia will expedite the immigration process at the federal level.

Previously, the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry immigration system worked on the first-come, first-serve basis. This means there was no requirement for registration or Expression of Interest.
