Candidates with CRS scores as low as 303 received invitations in latest two draws
Alberta has released the details of the latest two provincial nomination draws through its Express Entry Stream; issuing a total of 471 Notifications of Interest (NOI) to Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 303.
On July 17, the province issued a total of 251 NOIs to Express Entry candidates with a minimum CRS score of 400.
One week later, on July 24, a total of 220 Express Entry candidates with CRS scores as low as 303 received invitations.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream allows the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to search the federal Express Entry pool for candidates who meet the stream’s eligibility requirements and invite them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
Although a job offer or previous work experience in Alberta is not required to apply under Alberta Express Entry Stream, but the AINP says it may give priority to candidates with:
- a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta;
- a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer; or
- a parent, child or sibling already living in Alberta.
In addition, candidates must also have an Express Entry CRS score of at least 300. AINP does not provide a list of eligible occupations.
Since the establishment of Alberta Express Entry-Stream, which took place just over a year ago, AINP has issued a total of 5,063 NOIs through 26 draws that it held till date.
Candidates who wish to consider for a provincial nomination through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, need to first submit a profile to the Express Entry pool.
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS scores, which effectively increase their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.
