The latest draw of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) – Express Entry aligned stream conducted on December 5 invited 132 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive ranking system (CRS) scores as low as 400 points received invitations to apply or NOIs (Notifications of Interest) in this selection round.
Introduced in July, 2018, the Express Entry aligned stream of AINP allows the province to search the federal Express Entry pool for candidates who meet the stream’s eligibility requirements and invites them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
It is one of the best pathways to obtain permanent residency in Canada for candidates who have low CRS score in the Federal Express Entry System as the AINP has invited the candidates with CRS Point score as low as 300.
To be considered for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence from Alberta through its Express Entry Stream, candidates must have a CRS score of at least 300 points and be working in an occupation that “supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities,” among other criteria.
A job offer or previous work in Alberta is not mandatory in order to be eligible.
Express Entry candidates with a nomination from the Alberta get an additional 600 points towards their CRS scores, which effectively increase their chances to receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR in the following draw from the Express Entry pool.
135 invites issued in the December 5th draw bring the total number of NOIs issued by AINP through its Express Entry Stream this year to 6,752.
