Express Entry Draw #114: 3rd April, 2019
Cut-off score drops for third consecutive time
Canada has issued 3,350 invitations to Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 451 in a new draw held on April 3. This draw brings the total number of invitations issued in 2019 to 24,550.
The minimum score in this invitation round is one point lower than the minimum score in the previous draw held on March 20, which was 452.
April 3rd draw was the third consecutive draw in which the minimum CRS score has gone down, a trend that might be attributed to the consistent two-week interval between draws.
A tie-break rule was applied by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in the April 3rd draw and the time stamp used was January 9, 2019, at 07:35:09 UTC. This means that all candidates with a CRS score of and above 451, who had entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this date and time, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this invitation round.
April 3rd draw marks the fifth consecutive draw in which IRCC issued 3,350 invitations. However, there are high chances that draw sizes may increase in the coming weeks and months owing to Canada’s higher admissions targets for 2019 and 2020 for the three economic immigration classes managed by the Express Entry system.
Candidates who received an ITA now have 60 days to submit their complete Canadian permanent residence application to the Government of Canada.
