Express Entry Draw #126: 18 ,September, 2019
Minimum CRS score drops one point to 462
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issues 3600 invitations to Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a new draw held on Wednesday, September 18.
The minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in September 18 invitation round was 462 – a reduction of one point than the previous draw, which held on September 4 and had a cut-off score of 463.
This draw also brings the total number of invitations to apply (ITAs) issued this year by IRCC so far to 63,400. IRCC had issued 58,600 invitations by this same point in 2018, a year that hold the current ITA record of 89,800.
Canada’s high admissions targets for the three immigration programs managed by Express Entry system are 81,400 for 2019 and 85,800 for 2020.
As in the previous draws, a tie break was applied by IRCC in the September 18 draw as well and the time stamp used was August 29, 2019, at 07:57:13 UTC, which means that all candidates with a CRS score of and above 462, who had submitted their profile in the Express Entry pool before the said date and time, received invitations in this draw.
Express Entry candidates with low CRS scores can increase their points through a variety of options and the most valuable of which is to obtain a provincial nomination, which award an additional 600 points towards their CRS scores and effectively guarantees them an ITA for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.
The candidates, who received invitations in the September 18 draw, need to submit their complete application for Canadian permanent residence within 60 days.
