Express Entry Draw #118: 29th May, 2019
All-programs draw pushes CRS cut-off score to 470
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3,350 new candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a new Express Entry draw held on May 29, which brings the total number of ITAs issued so far in 2019 to 35,100.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score set in this invitation round was 470.
This draw was the first all-programs Express Entry invitation round since May 1. The previous Express Entry draw that took place on May 15, was limited to candidates in the Federal Skilled Trades Class only, where IRCC issued only 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs).
The one month gap between all-programs draws led to the high cut-off score in this invitation round.
The tie-break used by IRCC in the May 29 draw and the time stamp used was May 23, 2019, at 10:18:56 UTC. This means that all candidates with or above a CRS score of 470, who have entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this date and time, received an invitation in this draw.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has increased its 2019 admissions target for the three Federal Skilled immigration programs managed by the Express Entry system, and is expected to raise them again in 2020 and 2021.
The admissions target for 2019 is set at 81,400 new permanent residents – an increase of 6,500 admissions over 2018’s target of 74,900.
Candidates who received an ITA in this draw now have 60 days to submit their complete Canadian permanent residence application to the Government of Canada.
