Express Entry Draw #127: 2-October-2019
Canada conducted the largest Express Entry draw since January, issuing 3,900 invitations to candidates to apply for permanent residence on Oct 2nd.
The last time Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3,900 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence was on January 23, 2019.
The draw saw a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off threshold of 464 points, an increase of two points than the previous draw that was held on September 18.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers, which manages the applications under Canada’s three Federal High Skilled economic-class immigration categories —the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class.
The tie-breaking rule was applied for the October 2 draw and the time stamp used was September 20, 2019, at 15:05:04 UTC, meaning that all candidates with a CRS score of and above 464, who had submitted their Express Entry profile to the pool before this date and time, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this invitation round.
The October 2nd draw also brings the total number of ITAs issued by IRCC so far in 2019 to 67,300. Keeping Canada’s high admissions targets for the three immigration programs managed by Express Entry system in mind, it is possible that IRCC will surpass its ITA record of 89,800 that was set in 2018.
Candidates, who received an invitation in October 2 invitation round, now have to submit their complete permanent residence application to the Government of Canada within 60 days.
