Manitoba issued 193 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to immigration candidates in its latest provincial draw held on October 10.
Candidates, who received invitations to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residence in this invitation round, had the registered profile under Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, or International Education Stream of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
MPNP has now issued a total of 6,574 LAAs this year to promising immigration aspirants in these pathways.
- EXPRESS ENTRY
Of the 193 LAAs issued, 24 went to candidates with a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers and manages the profiles of candidates for three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.
Express Entry candidates, who wish to be considered for a provincial nomination from Manitoba, need to have eligible work experience in one of Manitoba’s in-demand occupations, among other requirements. They must also submit a separate expression of interest (EOI) with the MPNP.
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The October 10th draw issued 147 LAAs to candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category, which is open to qualified temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in the province and have been offered a permanent, full-time job with their Manitoba employer.
The lowest-scoring Skilled Worker in Manitoba candidate in this draw had an EOI score of 567.
- Skilled Worker Overseas
MPNP issued 22 LAAs to candidates in its Skilled Worker Overseas Category.
This category allows the MPNP to nominate eligible immigration candidates living outside Canada who have an established connection to Manitoba such as the previous education or work experience in the province, support of family members or friends or an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
Candidates, who received LAAs, were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which include overseas recruitment missions organized by the MPNP in association with Manitoba employers.
The lowest-ranked candidate in Skilled Worker Overseas Category invited in the October 10 draw had a score of 718.
- International Education Stream
Another 24 LAAs were issued through the MPNP’s International Education Stream – the stream dedicated to providing faster pathways to nomination international students graduating in Manitoba who fit the province’s labour market needs.
This stream includes three sub-categories:
- Career Employment Pathway
- Graduate Internship Pathway
- the Student Entrepreneur Pathway
