Express Entry candidates among those who received an invitation

Manitoba invited 354 immigration candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Streams of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in a new invitation round held on July 5.

The invitations, which are commonly known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), were distributed among the three immigration streams:

  • Skilled Workers Overseas Stream: 248
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream: 85
  • International Education Stream: 21

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) allows the province to nominate foreign workers and international graduates of its post-secondary institutions for Canadian permanent residence. In 2018, Manitoba issued a record number of nominations through MPNP’s various immigration streams, majority of which went to candidates in its skilled worker streams.

The MPNP said 91 invitations went to candidates with a valid federal Express Entry profile in July 5 draw. The minimum score required for an LAA in this invitation round was:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 565
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 594
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: Strategic Recruitment Initiative candidates: 619

The July 5 draw brings the total number of LAAs issued by MPNP to skilled worker immigration candidates till now in 2019 to 5,333.
