Out of total 123 invitations issued, 110 went to candidates under the Express Entry and Labour Impact categories while the remaining 13 invites were issued to candidates through Business Impact sub-category.

However, PEI PNP does not reveal the breakdown of the total invites issued to express entry candidates or the minimum score required for the candidates to receive an invitation.

Business Impact 13 125

Prince Edward Island’s Express Entry Category is directly linked to the Federal Express Entry System and allows the province to nominate candidates under Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class for Canadian permanent residence.

The Labour Impact Category is not aligned with the Express Entry system and is further divided into three streams — Skilled Workers (in PEI and overseas), International Graduates and Critical Workers. In order to apply under this Category, candidates need to be working in PEI or have an eligible full-time, long-term job offer from an employer in the province, among other eligibility criteria.

In order to be eligible for consideration for PEI PNP under Express Entry and Labor Impact sub categories, candidates first need to submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI).

These EOI profiles are then award candidates with a score according to PEI’s point’s grid. The highest ranked candidates are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws.

PEI’s Entrepreneur: Work Permit Stream is for individuals who are interested in owning and operating a business in the province. Candidates, who want to apply through this Stream, need to first apply for a letter of support from the PEI PNP for a temporary work permit. Those candidates who accomplish the terms and conditions of their business performance agreement are then awarded a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence from PEI.
