Two New Immigration Streams Announced by Alberta

Thousands of immigrants and all others had been waiting for it long.

Immigration experts and consultants were expecting it to come in the month of January. At last, the wait is over.

Yes, the talk here is about the two new immigration streams from Alberta province of Canada which were introduced on June 14th 2018.

As many had been anticipating it contained an Express Entry-linked stream.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) had been teasing thousands of aspiring immigrants since the month of January, as it was in that month that these two streams were expected.

For some reasons, the introduction of these two programs was held up till now.

With the introduction of two immigration stream, Alberta province of Canada joins the race between different provinces of Canada to bring in as much new immigrants as possible and to boost their economy.

As Alberta has created a dedicated Express Entry Stream it will now be able to invite candidates from the Federal Express Entry pool and give them opportunity to apply for a provincial nomination.

As AINP made the announcement for its Express Entry Stream it stated that “candidates who have demonstrated strong ties to Alberta and who can help support the economic development and diversification of the government will be invited to apply”.

As many of you might be aware, there are three main economic immigration classes that are managed by Canada under the federal Express Entry system, which are popular as – the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

Here is repetition of one more thing, just to remind you all, that when a candidate from Express Entry Pool receives a nomination, he or she gets an additional of 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and is given priority in the upcoming Express Entry draw.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) will directly select candidates from the Express Entry pool who are found eligible. A candidate in the Express Entry pool can apply for a provincial nominee only after an invitation is received from AINP.

Enter the Express Entry pool, as this is the first step you need to take if you want to be considered for these streams.

Alberta Opportunity Stream

Along with the new Express Entry stream, applications will now be accepted by Alberta under the Self-Employed Farmer Stream and the very latest Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS).

The AOS is a different kind of program in the sense that it will be run outside the Express Entry and permanent residence will be provided by this pathway for those who have worked in the province of Alberta.

A candidate is not required to have an employer support in order to apply for the new AOS program.

With two new immigration programs in action, two existing streams from Alberta had to bid goodbye.

Yes, dear aspiring immigrants, the Employer-Driven Stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream from Alberta will be taken off from the shelf starting from June 14, as stated by Alberta.

Looks like there are many who had already applied for these streams, well, all the applications who have been marked before June 14 will still be accepted for processing by AINP.
